“By healing yourself, you’re healing generations before and after you.” -Unknown

Hello, I’m Yvonne!
As a therapist, I am often described as down-to-earth, validating, and relational. I view therapy as a deeply personal and sacred process, and I believe meaningful growth happens when people feel safe, connected, and accepted. My goal is to build a trusting relationship where you can explore your experiences openly and move toward healing at your own pace. As a Native American woman from the Diné (Navajo) Nation, I understand the importance of culture, identity, family, and community in shaping our experiences, and I strive to provide care that is culturally responsive, compassionate, and grounded in respect.
My path to becoming a therapist is deeply personal. I grew up on the Navajo reservation in northern Arizona, where access to mental health services was non-existent. As a young person, I learned firsthand the importance of having someone who listens, understands, and genuinely cares. Those experiences inspired me to become the kind of support I wished had been available when I was growing up. I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel heard, valued, and understood, regardless of their background or circumstances.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC). Over the past 15 years, I have had the privilege of working with individuals and families in a variety of settings, including community-based programs, schools, and treatment centers. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the resilience people carry and the unique challenges they face throughout different stages of life.
Services
Individual Therapy
I provide individual therapy for adolescents ages 12 and older as well as adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, and other life challenges. I draw from Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients deepen their understanding of emotions, strengthen their sense of self, build resilience, and develop practical skills for managing life’s challenges. Together, we will work to create lasting change, foster emotional well-being, and support you in living a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Family Therapy
I provide family therapy using Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), an evidence-based approach that helps families strengthen emotional bonds, improve communication, and create a greater sense of safety and connection within relationships. Through EFFT, family members are supported in understanding the emotions and needs that drive conflict and disconnection. My goal is to help families move beyond cycles of hurt and frustration toward stronger, more secure relationships where each person feels valued, understood, and connected.
Healing Trauma
Traumatic experiences can leave lasting effects on how we view ourselves, relate to others, and navigate the world. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals process and heal from distressing experiences that may continue to impact their daily lives. EMDR helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories so they no longer feel as overwhelming or disruptive. Whether you have experienced a single traumatic event, childhood trauma, relational wounds, or ongoing stress, EMDR can help reduce emotional distress, strengthen resilience, and support lasting healing.
